How to create an estimate from a job

What's this for?

  • How to create estimates to send to customers from an existing job.

What you need to know

  1. Create the estimate directly from the Job (Copy To). This creates an estimate as a sub-document (child) of the Job and displays it in the sub-documents section of the Job for future reference.

  2. Each estimate is linked back to Job via the parent Link in the job header.

  3. You can create as many estimates as required for a single job.

  4. Customers can approve or reject the estimates in the portal

  5. You can set-up estimate templates in the template editor.

  6. If you send Quotations not Estimates you can use the template editor to rename your documents accordingly.

Steps

  1. Locate the Job to estimate.

  2. Open in view mode.

  3. Click the Show menu button on the right side of the menu bar.

  4. Select Copy To

  5. Select Estimate

  6. Confirm the estimate title, and if you want to attach any attachments from the Create Invoice screen.

  7. Click Create (this opens the Invoice in edit mode)

  8. Confirm or edit any details in the estimate (this will not change the connected job).

  9. Click Save and send in the usual way.

Tips

  1. Estimates are listed under the JOB in the sub-documents section.

  2. The estimate will link back to the parent JOB/PO via the parent link in the header area of each Invoice.

  3. You can set-up edit the estimate auto-sender and auto follow-ups under the board automations.

  4. You can set-up a template for your estimates under the template editor.
