This guide will walk you through the steps to efficiently add labor rates to parts, enabling a more transparent and efficient billing system for your repair services.

What's this for?

  • When adding products—particularly parts—to your system, you can specify a labor rate alongside an estimated timeframe for the related task.

  • If a part is added into documents like work orders or invoices, the system proactively calculates the labor charge using the set time and rate affiliated with that part. This labor charge appears as its own line item, offering clarity to customers on the cost breakdown between the part and its associated labor.


Steps:

  1. Access Inventory: From the side menu bar, select the 'Inventory' module.

  2. Add or Edit Product: You can modify an existing product or introduce a new one. To do so:

  3. Click 'Create' on the top menu bar.

  4. Choose 'Product' or 'Service'.

  5. Complete the form and hit 'Create'. This action will lead you to the product edit screen.

  6. Configure Labor Rate: Scroll to the 'Labor Rate Configuration' section

  7. Scroll down to the Labor Rate Configuration section.

  8. Input labor time, specifying in minutes.

  9. From the dropdown, pick the desired labor rate.

  10. Save your product details.
