How to automatically change the due-by date of a job when the job status changes.
Overview
You can use an automated event to trigger a due-by-date change when the Status of a job is updated. This is useful, for example, setting the due date to today when a job completes or nudging a due-by-date forward from today's date plaud a given number of days, if a job is delayed in a queue.
Use cases:
Set the due-by-date automatically when a job is queued to today's date +(expected delivery time).
Set the due-by-date to today's date when a job is completed.
Nudge a due-by-date when a job is delayed.
Steps
Go to the job board.
Click 'Show menu' on the board menu right side.
Click 'Board automations'.
Check if you have an existing event created for the Status you want to trigger the event. You can edit or add a new event using the 'Create automation button.
If you are editing an existing event, skip steps 6-9 below.
Enter a friendly name for your new workflow, such as 'Job queued'.
Select Status Changed for the event trigger.
Select the status name from the status drop drown.
Click Continue.
Click the '+' icon from the automation editor to insert a new action.
Select Update the due date from the list of actions.
Set the delay in the action delay input. You can insert delay events in the automation steps before the due date event to trigger the change after a more extended period. Each delay event can be up to 7-days.
Select the desired due date: today's date +(0-30d).
Click Save.
Click Save again on the editor screen (Green button bottom right).
Click Turn on to set the automation live.
