What's this for?

This tutorial explains how to resend a customer a copy of an invoice or estimate.

Options

  1. Send a customer a PDF copy.

  2. Send a customer a link to make payment or approve an estimate or quote.

  3. Resend using the automated send (if the email address failed, or bounced when the automation ran).

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the invoice or estimate.

  2. Scroll down to the 'message centre' box at the bottom of the document.

  3. Write your message to the customer.

  4. Insert a link into your message by clicking on the template tags {{..}} icon in the message toolbar.

  5. Scroll down the template tag list.

  6. Select 'document share link' (this will insert a special template tag into your message).

  7. When you have completed your message click 'Send'.

Send a customer a PDF copy of an invoice or an estimate.

  1. Navigate to the invoice or estimate.

  2. Scroll down to the 'message centre' box at the bottom of the document.

  3. Write your message to the customer.

  4. Open the project menu on the right side by clicking on the show menu button in the right side of the top document bar (button three horizontal dots).

  5. Select documents.

  6. Locate the document in the list you want to send.

  7. Drag the document from the list onto the message window (this will attach a PDF copy).

  8. When you have completed your message click 'Send'.

Resend using the automated send (if the email address failed, or bounced when the automation ran).

If you mark an Invoice or Estimate as sent and have an automated send automation email if the email address is incorrect or bounced, the automation will not run automatically re-trigger when you edit the customer's email address. Follow the steps below:

  1. Move the estimate to the responded status, or the Invoice to on-hold

  2. Move the estimate or Invoice back to Send (this will re-trigger the send automation.

  3. After a few moments, you can check the document feed to establish if the email was resent correctly.

If required, you can manually resend the document using one of the manual alternative methods above.
